Looking Ahead to Advocates for Arthritis 2025

From the College  |  April 5, 2025

This May, more than 120 ACR leaders, fellows and patients with rheumatic disease will converge in Washington, D.C., for Advocates for Arthritis 2025 to lobby Congress on issues that matter to the rheumatology community. With the healthcare policy landscape on Capitol Hill shifting daily, this year’s event is more crucial than ever.

This year’s slate of legislative asks will allow advocates to focus on the issues that impact them most profoundly while comprehensively addressing the needs of the rheumatology community. Advocates will be discussing issues related to access to care, including protecting Medicare and Medicaid, National Institutes of Health research funding and pharmacy benefit manager reform.

Additionally, this marks the first year that the ACR has accepted applications from all members to attend, and we look forward to continuing to grow Advocates for Arthritis to accept more and more applicants each year. Fellows and ACR/ARP members interested in attending next year’s Advocates for Arthritis should note that ACR staff will begin accepting applications later this year. With any questions, contact Paige Colston, ACR manager of PAC and grassroots engagement.
