How to Submit Your Story Idea to The Rheumatologist

The Rheumatologist publishes articles about news, trends and issues in rheumatology. Every story must present practical, usable information for our readers—material that is immediately helpful to them in their professional lives.

If you have a story idea, e-mail a query to Editor Keri Losavio. Please do not send completed manuscripts. A query consists of a few paragraphs that tell us why our readers would value the story, potential experts or sources for the story, and how the story would influence the provision of rheumatology. In your query, include your name, title and organization, as well as a daytime phone number.

How to Submit a Case Report

Have you managed a patient with an unusual rheumatologic problem that you want to present to a larger audience? Consider submitting your case to The Rheumatologist.

We are looking for interesting cases that are well written and provide useful teaching points to the reader. You can find advice on what makes a case interesting in this Rheuminations column by Physician Editor Bharat Kumar.

To be considered for publication, send an outline of your case presentation to Editor Keri Losavio, for consideration.

If your outline is accepted for publication, the case report should be 3,000 words or less, with a maximum of six references. Tables and images are encouraged.

How to Submit a Letter to the Editor

The Rheumatologist welcomes letters to the editor. Letters should be 500 words or less, and may be edited for length and style. Submit your letter via e-mail to Editor Keri Losavio. Include your name, title, and organization, as well as a daytime phone number.

Note: The Rheumatologist is an official publication of the American College of Rheumatology, with the-rheumatologist.org serving as an extension of the magazine. As such, we do not accept unsolicited blogs, paid posts or bylined articles, or trade for links.
