An ACR-led resolution that calls for the protection of NIH funding and the ability to negotiate indirect costs will become AMA policy, along with several other resolutions supported by the ACR.
The ACR’s delegation to the American Medical Association House of Delegates is seeking ACR members who may be interested in serving as representatives to the Young Physician Section.
At a busy and highly successful interim meeting of the AMA House of Delegates, an ACR-cosponsored resolution that calls for exceptions to therapy caps was passed and will become AMA policy. Other areas addressed include payment parity for telemedicine and MIPS reform.
The ACR is seeking a representative to the Young Physician Section of the AMA House of Delegates who will join the ACR’s delegation at future HOD meetings and advance issues important to rheumatology.
The ACR will lead five other specialty societies on a resolution supporting pediatric specialty care and will co-lead resolutions addressing Medicare Advantage Part B drug coverage, white bagging mandates, state prescription drug affordability boards and impacts of alternative funding programs on access to care.
Last month, the ACR’s delegation to the AMA House of Delegates discussed and advanced resolutions to address specialty workforce shortages, payment reform and access to care.
Two ACR-led resolutions on in-office specialty drug dispensing and the proposed NIH Public Access Plan passed the House of Delegates and will become AMA policy.
The ACR will co-lead with the American Society of Clinical Oncology a resolution on in-office dispensing of specialty drugs and will lead 10 other specialty societies to advance a resolution on the proposed NIH Public Access Plan and equitable access to quality clinical research.
