AMA House of Delegates Meeting: Decisions Affecting You

Gary Bryant, MD  |  Issue: August 2012  |  August 8, 2012

Finally, thank you for the confidence you have in me and the other delegates to represent you at the AMA HOD. It is truly a pleasure. I am happy to discuss any of the issues in greater detail. If you have any suggestions for resolutions to discuss at the AMA interim meeting in November, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or Tiffany Schmidt, ACR vice president of socioeconomic affairs, at [email protected].

Dr. Bryant is the ACR delegate to the AMA and associate professor of medicine at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Support Rheumatology with an AMA Membership

Every five years, the ACR must demonstrate that it has at least 1,000 ACR members that belong to the AMA in order to maintain a seat on the House of Delegates. We are currently just shy of our 1,000 goal, and it is vital that you join the AMA today! AMA membership is now half price for new members, but you must call the AMA directly at (800) 262-3211 or mail in your application by September 15.

Support your specialty with an AMA membership so the ACR can voice your opinions during important policy discussions. Remember, the ACR needs 1,000 ACR members to join the AMA by September 15 or rheumatology will lose its voice in the AMA House of Delegates.
