Denosumab Boosts BMD after Teriparatide Treatment for Osteoporosis

“Weight-bearing exercise is good for anyone who is physically able to do so,” he added. “Our population was patients who were put on teriparatide after experiencing a fragility fracture. Many of these patients still are able to do some weight-bearing exercises but to a lesser extent than you or I.”

Dr. Jeffrey A. Goldstein, director of the spine fellowship program at NYU Langone Health in New York City, told Reuters Health by email, “The findings are supported by the research, and reiterate the benefits of teriparatide as well as the need to follow teriparatide with antiresorptive medications.”
