Laurie Hughell

Laurie Hughell

Laurie Hughell, PA- C, MPH, is a physician assistant at Mercy Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Hughell also serves as an adjunct professor in rheumatology for the Des Moines University physician assistant class and enjoys educating both students and patients alike on arthritis-related issues. She has served as a member of the Government Affairs Committee for the past two years and has thoroughly enjoyed gaining in-depth knowledge of legislative affairs and being introduced to the lobbying process.

“I am looking forward to becoming more involved in ARHP and ACR activities as the ARHP Executive Committee representative for ACR Government Affairs Committee and hope to become more involved in other committees in the future,” says Hughell.

Susan Richmond

Susan Richmond

Susan Richmond, MS, PA-C, an assistant professor at the School of Physician Assistant Studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, has been an active member of ARHP Practice Committee since 2009 and will continue as chair for 2011–2012. This committee has been proactive in developing patient and provider educational materials such as the streamlined Biologic Quick Reference Guides for DMARD administration. “It is my privilege to serve on ARHP’s executive committee,” says Richmond. “I look forward to continuing development of practical and educational online tools for providers, as well as continuing to raise awareness of the contributions of the health professions to overall patient care and well-being.”
