In conjunction with the 2019 ACR/ARP Annual Meeting, the ACR piloted two new programs to provide learners with deeper, more diverse educational experiences outside of attending medical conferences.
Education Partners
The ACR Education Partner Program allows rheumatology professionals to consume research from the 2019 ACR/ARP Annual Meeting via multimedia video and audio platforms. A call for proposals was conducted in spring 2019 to identify education companies that could help develop the new learning opportunities. Infomedica was selected to develop a digital learning platform, ACR/ARP Annual Meeting Highlights, which consists of a digital library of videos, summaries and downloadable slides in a variety of languages for distance learners. The platform has been translated into seven languages, and since its launch in early December, has had more than 14,000 views in 44 countries around the world.
The program gives 2019 ACR/ARP Annual Meeting attendees access to a library of user-friendly abstract summaries and videos to help them continue learning beyond the meeting and to provide media outside a traditional conference setting.
Spotlight Slide Decks
ACR Spotlight Slide Decks feature some of the most notable abstracts in select categories from the 2019 ACR/ARP Annual Meeting. These informative presentations can be used by attendees to reinforce learning and as a teaching resource to share content with others. Five slide decks were developed for rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, spondyloarthritis, late-breaking abstracts and updates for patients.
Attendees have access to these new learning tools through the ACR Beyond platform. The platform also features recorded presentations of sessions from the meeting and is a complimentary benefit for all meeting attendees. The ACR will continue to explore innovative educational opportunities to extend the reach and value of future meetings.
