Don’t Miss 2020 E/M Coding Workshop in New Orleans

Access to good training and education on practice management and coding issues has proved beneficial to physician success. Getting up-to-date information on compliance, insurance reimbursement, office efficiency, coding and billing is crucial for effective and efficient practice management. The ACR’s Committee on Rheumatologic Care (CORC) has created the premier one-day E/M Documentation Trends and Best Practices coding workshop for rheumatologists, fellows in training and practice administrators.

To be held in New Orleans on March 27 during the State-of-the-Art Clinical Symposium, this workshop is designed to meet the demand for training and education on new coding guidelines. This workshop will sift through the major changes to evaluation and management (E/M) codes that affect billing, coding and claims processing, and will help attendees determine how to begin preparing for these changes now, by revising templates and educating practice staff before Jan. 1, 2021.

Physicians must reinvent and readjust their operations to create better efficiencies, as well as methodically evaluate their revenue cycle to capitalize on cash flow. This practice realignment includes taking a broader view of every aspect of a practice, which comprises taking a closer look at the daily operations of the practice. Physicians and practice administrators may have to reengineer workloads, workflows and staff responsibilities; review contracts; evaluate accounts receivable; and assess collections—all of which require education and training.

Real-life cases and discussions that connect clinical scenarios to a selection of CPT and diagnosis codes make this workshop ideal for rheumatologists and coding staff. This workshop is rich with clinical descriptions, a comprehensive workbook, resource guides, templates, and coding examples attendees will keep for future reference. A bonus breakout session designed as an interactive open forum, with a mix of physicians, consultants and practice managers/administrators on hand, will address key issues facing rheuma­tology practices. Significant time is set aside for questions and audience participation.
